Deadliest Tornadoes in Years Destroy the South

At Least 19 Dead, With Devestation Across Four States

At least 19 people, including four children, are dead in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kentucky as a result of devastating tornadoes that swept across the southern United States on Friday night and early Saturday morning. An enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes, is forecast today across the southern region.

Storms in Valley View, Texas, left a path of destruction in their wake, with homes and businesses reduced to rubble. More than 120 million Americans woke up to tornado warnings this morning, with the National Weather Service urging residents to be prepared and take shelter if necessary.

Dozens of people were killed as tornadoes swept across at least six states Friday night and early Saturday, leaving behind a trail of destruction. According to a BBC report, the strong winds brought down billboards and ripped trees on major streets in Selma, Alabama.
