BYU Defensive Coordinator Jay Hill Released from Hospital After Suffering Heart Attack
Hill Suffered the Heart Attack on December 24
Hill is Expected to Make a Full Recovery
PROVO, Utah - BYU defensive coordinator Jay Hill has been released from the hospital after suffering a heart attack on December 24.
Hill was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve after experiencing chest pains. He underwent surgery to insert a stent in his heart.
Hill is expected to make a full recovery. He is currently resting at home and is expected to return to work in the coming weeks.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said he is grateful that Hill is doing well.
"Jay is a great coach and a great friend," Sitake said. "We are all so happy that he is on the road to recovery."
Hill has been the defensive coordinator at BYU since 2016. He has helped the Cougars to three bowl games in the past four years.
Hill is a former BYU player. He was a linebacker for the Cougars from 1997 to 2000.
